WFTO is the authentic voice of Fair Trade: we are the only global network whose members represent the Fair Trade chain from production to sale. We are a powerful advocate for the Sustainable Fair Trade Economy: our dream of a global marketplace where all individuals and organisations trade fairly for the good of all people and the planet; where social, economic and environmental sustainability is not only common practice but a market precondition.

Together with Fairtrade Labelling Organizations International (FLO) and the European Fair Trade Association (EFTA), WFTO operates a joint advocacy office to influence European and global politics and increase the awareness of Fair Trade among key decision makers.

The Fair Trade Advocacy Office (FTAO) speaks out for Fair Trade and trade justice with the aim to improve trading conditions for the benefit of small and marginalised producers and poor workers in developing countries.

WFTO represents a strong advocacy movement of Fair Trade players with campaigning capacity and activities, especially through the Worldshops, as a support strategy for lobbying and advocacy key issues. WFTO Europe has provided support and well thought-out contributions to the FTAO office as a permanent, informal "European observatory" of the political EU context and specifically European and International Legislation on Trade and Fair Trade issues.
