The Fair Trade International Symposium series is a regular, large scale conference event, that gathers interested parties from all across the world in order to showcase the latest and best quality research undertaken in the area of "Fair Trade". The first Fair Trade International Symposium was held in Montreal in 2002. After another event there in 2006, the Symposium has moved to Europe and Montpellier in 2008. The next event will be held at Liverpool Hope University in April 2012. The aim of the symposiums are to bring together the worlds leading and newly emerging academic researchers, with practitioners, policy makers and general public, for the development and consolidation of collective knolwedge on the subject of Fair Trade.
