Be Fair Call for Proposals, Belgium

The Trade for Development Centre (BTC) which is the Belgian development agency is promoting actively small scale producers and micro enterprises in the south and supporting their ambitions to gain from trade. 

Calling for proposals for their "BE FAIR" contest which will be celebrated during the 9^th Belgian Fair Trade Week in September, the BTC warmly invites organizations that are engaged in the promotion and establishment of fair trade in developing countries to send their proposals of initiatives in the two following categories:

1. BE FAIR Award for HER

The organization, association or cooperative of fair trade best integrating and promoting the participating of women in their work will be awarded.

2. BE FAIR Award SOUTH-SOUTH

The aim of this award is to honor on the one hand a project which promotes the establishment of fair trade or selling of products of fair trade in domestic markets of developing countries or the promotion of fair trade between developing countries. Or on the other hand an initiative that seeks in developing an activity or project in 2010-2011.

The deadline for submitting proposals is the 23^rd August 2010.

The best initiative in each category is awarded with an amount of 5,000€ which will be handed over on the ceremony in Brussels on the 30^th September 2010.
